Antihypertensive Effects of Crude and Steamed with Alcohol Siegesbeckiae Herba on the Spontenous Hypertensive Rats



Abstract
Siegesbeckiae Herba is the dried leaves and stems of Siegesbeckia orientalis L., S. pubescens Makino and S. glabrescens Makino. This drug first appeared in ¢¥Tang Materia Medica¢¥. It has the effects of expellin wind dampness and strengthening the sinews, calming the spirit, clearing heat and pacifing the liver and transforming damp heat. In the clinic, it is using to treat hypertension with crude or alcohol-stemed forms, but it is not clear which is better. Therefore, we compared on the hypertensive effects of crude and alcohol-steamed Siegesbeckiae Herba on the spontenous hypertensive rats. Through this study, we could not find any deference in the anti- hypertensive effect in SHR.
